Jim Sharman's 1975 cult musical is not a movie you sit through politely. Brad and Janet get a flat tire. Frank-N-Furter opens the door. The Time Warp happens whether you are ready or not. Tonight the picture plays while dinner is served.

Rice
The film opens on a wedding. As the couple leaves the church, throw it. Stay in your seat for this one — aisles get slippery.
Toast
The criminologist raises his glass and proposes a toast. Throw it on the word.
Newspaper
Brad and Janet get caught in the rain. Hold it over your head like they do.
Playing cards
Frank sings about cards during his final number. Toss them in the air.
Party hat
There's a birthday moment in the lab. Hat on, and keep it on.
Noisemaker
For the wedding, the birthday, and any time the room needs it. Which is often.
When Frank does the Time Warp, get up.
- Throw upward, not forward. Everything goes in the air above your own table. Nothing at the screen, nothing at the staff, nothing at the people in front of you.
- No water. We've left the water pistols out on purpose. Hard floors and dancing don't mix.
- Shout all you like. Callbacks are the point. If you don't know them, you'll pick them up — the room will carry you.
- Dinner and the film happen together. Courses come out while the picture plays. Stay seated through service; the floor opens up for the Time Warp.
- Take the bag home — or leave it under your chair. Please don't leave it on the table.
